About Me

Hi, my name is Colleen Henvit and I am an empty nester, living in North Carolina the last five years, after raising my beautiful daughter and son as a single mom in New Hampshire/Maine. I miss Maine and New Hampshire & my spiritual family terribly. When I go visit my son, I think I want to come back to live and then I remember the winters. I really miss living close to the ocean as this is one of my favorite places to be. I love taking long walks on the beach, holding God’s hand and talking to Him. It is where I find peace, comfort, love, clarity, and joy. I can always find what I am looking for there as I bring what is on my heart before God. I also love to praise Him with words, songs and in quietness.

After moving to North Carolina and being 3-4 hours away from the ocean, I had to find other places in nature that I could go to and I have! I have found places in the mountains, at lakes, ponds and rivers too! I am also able to clear my mind and heart on my everyday walks too! I love especially ending my day with a walk and talk with God, just reflecting on the day with Him and watching the sun go down. It really refreshes my soul!

I do love the outdoors and besides the beach and walking, I love spending time with my children, family and friends, kayaking, hiking, traveling, writing, blogging, reading, music, cooking, serving in my community/church, and teaching/sharing with women how to build a strong relationship with God.

I am constantly looking for ways to grow in my relationship with God as I know it will help me in building a healthy relationship with Him and others. I have realized through the scriptures that He wants this so much more than I do and as I see the growth in my own life, I crave learning more about Him. As I sit at my Lord’s feet, listening and learning and then doing; I see His words living and active in my life, and I am so in awe of who God is.

Seeing through God’s eyes has motivated me to share what I am learning with you because it is really hard to keep all these great things to myself. I would really love for you to experience and know God’s love and what He is doing in your life too. It is incredibly powerful, freeing and so amazing seeing how God transforms us into what He wants us to be. I am so grateful for all He is teaching me and how patient He is as I pursue to live according to His plan for my life.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11
